Lending Money via Prosper to Increase Returns
I have read several articles on Prosper lending and other P2P lending sites that have made me interested in boosting my returns in an alternative to investing in the stock market. I have decided to try a few loans with Prosper.com and am currently working on my strategy. I have been earning terrible returns on my cash for years now in a money market account so it will not hurt to wait a few days while I formulate my lending strategy.
This week, I will transfer some money to Prosper, but first as a prerequisite, my wife has asked me to first transfer the money through an infrequently used account with very little money. She would jut like an additional degree of separation between our main bank account “just in case.” That seems like a fair enough condition to get started. This is play money for me now while I sort out if I can select good loans or not. This blog will chronicle my attempt at making good returns on my loans.
If you have loaned money using Prosper another P2P lending network, let me know your experience by posting a comment. If you are interested in also tracking your loan portfolio performance on Prosper, please also post a comment. I will be looking for potential bloggers to also post their experiences with P2P lending at PersonalLoanPortfolio.com.
